Abstract
1297236 Hydraulic rams CASCADE CORP 28 Sept 1971 45127/71 Heading F1P A hydraulic ram piston 13 is cushioned at the end of its inward stroke by unseating a valve 49 closing a passage 36 through the piston thereby connecting opposite sides of the piston, the valve 49 being secured to one end of a pin 46 passing freely through a central narrow diameter portion of the passage 36 and having on its other end a second valve member 48 which with valve 49 seated at 42 projects beyond the piston end-face 32 so that when valve 48 abuts cylinder end-plate 29 valve 49 unseats and valve 48 remains unseated. During the outward stroke valve 48 remains seated at 40 until at the end of the stroke valve 49 abuts the other cylinder end-plate (not shown) and unseats valve 48.
