Abstract
1297028 Electrets MARCONI CO Ltd 13 Feb 1970 [5 May 1969 (3)] 7013/70 Heading H1M [Also in Division H4] An electret layer is constituted by an oxide layer formed on and from a metal electrode, e.g. of tantalum, aluminium or an alloy containing one or both. Preferably the oxide layer is formed by anodizing, using solvent or non- solvent electrolytes, or plasma techniques. By control of the electric field used in film forming, the oxide film becomes an electret. Permanent polarization is enhanced by irradiating the oxide film with high energy electrons.
