Abstract

1296432 Loading pallets LAMSON ENG CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [27 Jan 1970] 3862/70 Heading B8C Articles such as packages or bags to be stacked on a pallet 8 supported on a platform 7, are fed on conveyors 1, 2 to a loader where they are manually arranged, a layer at a time, upon a plate 4 which can be withdrawn into the loader body 5 by an hydraulic piston (6, Fig. 3) so that a stop 6a can strip the layer on to the pallet 8. The pallet height is sensed by photoelectric devices positioned below the plate 4 and adjusted by an hydraulic piston (11, Fig. 4) acting on a scissor linkage 7a. The platform 7 may comprise a roller bed to facilitate removal of a loaded pallet on to a take-off conveyer 9. The plate 4 may be apertured so that pressure air can be fed therethrough to provide an air cushion facilitating article loading. Alternatively, the upper surface of the plate 4 may be treated with a friction reducing composition. Spare pallets are stacked in a dispenser 13.
