1296053 Foam laminates IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 8 April 1970 [9 April 1969] 18211/69 Heading B5N A process for producing foam laminates comprising a rigid layer of foam confined between two skins includes the step of establishing a differential curve throughout the thickness of the reacting foam after lay-down of the foamforming liquid formulation upon the substrate but before the application of the second facing material, by subjecting the free or exposed expanding foam surface to an airstream, whilst applying heat to the substrate and controlling the temperature and/or volume of the air-stream so that the rate of loss of heat from the free or exposed surfaces of the foam is maintained substantially constant and the free or exposed surface of the foam is not subject to substantial variations in ambient temperature. Specified materials are polyurethane foam and forming layers of plywood and plasterboard.
