Abstract
1296030 Valves HOERBIGER VENTIL. WERKE AG 21 Dec 1970 [19 Dec 1969] 60459/70 Addition to 1072220 Heading F2V A control valve designed for use with appliances which are fluid-impulse-operated, comprises an inlet 2, an outlet 3, a drain 26 and two operatively interconnected valve members 6, 17. The connection between the inlet duct 2 and a chamber 5, which chamber contains valve member 6, is afforded by a passage 4 and a parallel and controllably throttled passage 29, 28. The valve members are biased to the position shown. In operation, fluid at the inlet 2 passes unimpeded to the outlet 3 for as long as there is demand at the outlet. Upon such demand ceasing, the back pressure in outlet 3 causes relief valve member 17 to open and hence supply valve member 6 to close. Accordingly, the outlet passage is connected to the drain 26. The valves remain in this changed-over state until the inlet pressure is reduced. Thereafter, the pressure in chamber 5 is gradually vented via the throttled passage-the other passage 4 being closed by valve member 6-until the spring forces acting on the two valve members are sufficient to return these to the position shown-the delayed opening of valve 6 after the outlet pressure is relieved prevents a new rise in pressure within outlet 3 and hence the possibility of an unintentional actuation of the appliance connected to the outlet 3. In a modification, not shown, passage 4 may contain a check valve opening in the direction of chamber 5.
