Abstract
1296015 Corrosion inhibitors SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 11 Jan 1971 [12 Jan 1970] 1228/71 Heading C7E To inhibit corrosion of ferrous metals by solutions of cuprous ions, a metal salt of salicylic acid and/or a substituted salicylic acid is added to the solution. Suitable salts include those of Na, K, Li, Ag, Cd, Ni, Co and Cu and it is preferred to use salts of substituted salicylic acids containing one or two alkyl substituents having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms. Suitable solvents include xylene and propionitrile.
