1295782 Rollers LOCKWOOD GRADERS (UK) Ltd 22 April 1971 [7 May 1970] 40977/71 Divided out of 1295781 Heading F2U [Also in Division B2] In an assembly of annular members 2 mounted on a common shaft 19, Fig. 6, each member is halved along an axial, diametrical plane and the two halves 10, 11, Fig. 4, are brought together on opposite sides of the shaft and engage parts of an adjacent member 2 in order to be held together. The assembly may form part of a crop grader; Fig. 2. A number of members 2, each comprising a disc 3 with an axially projecting boss 4 of reduced diameter, are mounted in rows on parallel shafts either in boss-to-disc, or boss-toboss and disc-to-disc, relationship to provide grading apertures 5. The end faces of the bosses and disc are provided with pins 12, 13 and sockets 14, 15, Fig. 4, for interengagement. The members 2 are moulded from rubber and the pins 12 are made of rigid material moulded into the rubber. Each shaft 19, Fig. 6, is provided with a clutch collar 20 keyed to the shaft and with a spring-loaded clutch key 21 having a spring adjuster 22. The collar 20 and the key 21 co-operate with the pins of the adjacent end annular member 2. The shaft 19 is mounted in bearings 23 and is fitted at one end with a sprocket 24 via which it is driven from a driveshaft by means of a chain which runs beneath, and in engagement with, the end sprockets 24 of all the shafts, Fig. 7 (not shown). Gears and pulleys may be attached to shafts in the same manner as the annular members 2 of the crop grader.
