Abstract

1295621 Molten slag granulator PRVNI BRNENSKA STROJIRNA NARODNI PODNIK 8 Jan 1970 932/70 Heading C7X A molten slag granulator comprises a water tank 1 filled with pressurized water from nozzles 5 and a water overflow pipe 15 to maintain the level. A crusher 2 and a mesh grating 3 are secured in the tank below the water level and molten slag is introduced at 9. The slag is granulated in the water and removed through grating 3. Oversize slag is directed to crusher 2 and the crushed slag is collected with the granules passing through grating 3. Baffle plates 4,19 are also immersed in the water and the grating 3 may be vibrated. The granules passing through grating 3 are transported to the lower part of the tank by water from nozzle 17 and the granulated slag is discharged via 6 by water jet from nozzle 11.
