Abstract

1295234 Mechanical garages R D LICHTI and R F CAMPBELL 10 Dec 1970 [19 June 1970] 58668/70 Heading B8E In a mechanical garage in which cars parked on platforms 25, Fig. 1, are raised and circulated by an endless chain 20, the platforms are guided by tracks 50, 51, Fig. 3, and the tracks are provided, where they cross-over at 47, with pivoted switch tongues 62, 63 which ensure that travellers 52, 53 on the platforms enter the correct guides. The switch tongues are linked together by links 66, 67 and a toggle 68 and are automatically moved into correct positions when the travellers 52, 53 abut cams attached thereto. Similar guides and tongues are provided at the top of the garage. The platforms are suspended by pivoted links 30, 31 attached to the chain 20 at 21. The guides are resiliently mounted with respect to the framework of the supporting tower by pivoted links such as 79, 79<SP>1</SP>, and springs 108, 109.
