1294895 Releasable fastenings A BRAND ESTINI 19 Nov 1969 [26 March 1969] 56637/ 69 Headings E2B E1S and E1W An anchorage body 2 which is adapted to be used in combination with tie 1, a plurality of wedges (not shown) for wedging the tie in the anchorage body and at least one element 4 or 5 for centering the cable or tie in the anchorage body and for forming a seal between the tie and the anchorage body, to anchor the cable or tie in concrete, has such an exterior formation as to enable the body to key with the concrete for anchoring the tie, said anchorage body having a passage therethrough to receive the tie, a first section 2b of the passage being adjacent a front end of the anchorage body and being of a rearwardly tapering frusto-conical formation to receive the or each element, a second section 3a of the passage being of a forwardly tapering frusto-conical formation to receive the wedges. In the construction shown a shoulderlike constriction 2c is provided between the two tapering section which serves as a stop for the element 5. The body has a screw thread 6f adjacent the wider end of the section 3a to enable the body to be engaged with a sleeve 6 so that the body can be anchored to shuttering 7; the sealing elements prevent grouting cement from entering the passage and hindering removal of the sleeve 6. Alternatively the screw thread 6f can be engaged by a cap. The element 4 can be longer than that shown and can then have a side opening to enable it to be filled with grouting cement.
