Optically-projected signals.-For the preparation of announcement slides, a piece of flexible transparent material t is provided, placed in a folded piece of carbon transfer paper c, the two being placed in a paper or like wrapper, shown opened flat in Fig. 1. The wrapper has a back portion f, a front portion f<1> provided with an opening f<5> through which the carbon paper c is exposed, and an adhesive sealing-flap f<2>, these parts being separated by lines of perforations or other weakening f<3>, f<4> to facilitate folding and subsequent detachment. When required, the desired announcement is imprinted on the material t by hand or by a typewriter acting on the exposed portion of the carbon paper c. The transparent material bearing the announcement, together with the portion f<1> of the wrapper to serve as a mat, is then placed between two pieces of glass bound together to form a slide, Fig. 9. Only one piece of carbon paper may be used, so that an impression is made on one side only of the transparent material; or the carbon paper may be omitted and the announcement imprinted directly on the transparent material by the ribbon of a typewriter.
