1294298 3 - Nitro - 2,6 - dihydroxy - benzoic acid esters FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 11 June 1970 [14 June 1969] 28362/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the Formula I where X is a hydrogen, bromine, chlorine or iodine atom and R is an alkyl C 1-4 radical or a phenyl radical optionally substituted by a halogen atom or a methyl, ethyl or nitro radical. They are prepared by nitration of the appropriate 2,6-dihydroxy benzoic acid ester or appropriate 5-halo-2,6-dihydroxy benzoic acid ester or by halogenation of the appropriate 3-nitro-2,6-dihydroxy benzoic acid ester.
