Abstract

1293064 Electricity meter housings ERMI A B 19 May 1971 [22 May 1970] 15800/71 Heading G1Q An electricity meter housing comprises a base 2 and a cap 1 held together by a securing strip 3 which is of generally C-shaped cross-section, see Fig.2, and has edge portions 7 engaging grooves 4, 6 on the cap and base respectively. The groove 4 on the cap is provided in a flange 14, and the groove 6 on the base in two blocks 5 situated on each of the two vertical walls of the base. (Alternatively, the flange may be on the base and the blocks on the cap). The securing strip 3 is, overall, of a U-shaped configuration and can slide in the grooves between upper and lower positions, movement upwards being limited, by engagement between a pressed-in tongue 9 and a projecting edge 20 of the flange 14. In the upper position apertures 21 in the strip are aligned with the blocks 5, so that the cap 1 can be removed. In the lower position an apertured lug 11 projects through the strip 3 to receive a lead-sealable wire 22. A sealing strip 10 is carried by the flange 14.
