Abstract

1293059 Pointing M HUETTEBRAEUCKER [trading as FRIEDR KROLLMANN KG] 29 Oct 1970 [30 Oct 1969] 51374/70 Headings B3H and B3P A tube pointing press comprises at least three radially arranged, prismatically shaped dies 2 each of which is slidable along a flat surface la of the press frame 1 and has two surfaces c, dies contacting surfaces d, c of adjacent dies so that when one of the dies 2<SP>1</SP> is moved all the other discs are moved simultaneously. The die 2<SP>1</SP> is moved by an hydraulic piston and cylinder 3, 4, the adjacent die 2<SP>11</SP> having a recess 2b to allow the free passage of the piston rod 4. The dies 2 are guided within the frame 1 by end plates 6. The press may have four dies, as shown, for producing a square section point or six dies (Fig. 3, not shown) for producing a point of hexagonal section.
