Abstract

1292451 Moulding closure caps LECTRATUBE Ltd 18 May 1970 [16 May 1969] 25027/69 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] A method of moulding threads on to the internal surface of a thermoplastics cap wherein the cap, initially having a plain or partially threaded internal surface, is frictionally seated on the screw-threaded metallic neck of a container to be closed and heat is induced in the neck by a coil, carrying radio-frequency electric current up to about 15 megacycles/second for ¢ to 2 seconds duration, this heat causing the internal cap surface to melt and mould on to the neck thread. A cap of polyethylene, polypropylene or P.V.C. is preferably used.
