Abstract

1291511 Adhesive tabs; splicing webs WITTON-JAMES Ltd 7 May 1971 [8 May 1970] 22300/70 Headings B8F and B8R A paper tab 1 has pressure sensitive adhesive on one side (the underside) of portions 9, 3, end portion 9 being attached to a free end of a reel, portions 3 being attached to an adjacent part of the reel to prevent premature unwinding. A central portion 2, which may extend past portions 3, has adhesive on its upper face facilitating adhesion to an abutting web, rotation of the reel being synchronized with the speed of the web prior to being secured thereto. The tab 1 tears along lines a, which may be perforated, enabling the reel to unwind.
