Abstract
1289717 Asynchronous motors DANFOSS A S 18 Sept 1969 [21 Sept 1968] 46065/69 Heading H2A Each pole of the stator winding of a single phase asynchronous motor consists of two seriesconnected sections 1, 2, Fig. 2, offset from each other by 67¢-75 electrical degrees. One section 1 has more turns than the other and is connected in parallel with a motor starting impedance 3 comprising positive temperature coefficient resistors. A winding thermostat associated with section 1 of the winding only provide protection against overheating. The stator laminations (Fig. 4) for the winding may have, per pole, three slots 5-7 for one winding section 1 and two slots 8, 9 for the other winding section 2. This leaves large portions 10, 11 of the inner periphery of the core unslotted, thus improving the magnetic circuit, enabling open slots to be used and facilitating the cutting of the laminations from a strip, as indicated by the broken lines. The motor may be used in refrigerators, oil burners and pump.
