Abstract
1289703 Concrete blocks BARVIS Ltd 23 Nov 1970 [17 Dec 1969] 61386/69 Heading E1B A concrete block 1 has a rail or screw receiving insert 2 cast therein, the insert comprising a channel section metal strip with a wooden strip 3 gripped resiliently between opposed flanges 2b, the extremities 2c of which are bent back to provide a key in the concrete. In modifications the portions 2c may be at right angles to the portion 2b, the flanges may be castellated or of zig-zag formation and the wooden strip may be replaced by a series of spaced wooden blocks. The inserts may extend the full width of the block or may be much shorter. An insert for the corner of a block has two main flanges at right angles which form the corner, two further flanges each at right angles to one of the first flanges, and the further flanges formed with bent portions extending into the block away from the insert. The sheath may have spaces holes in the surface 2a.
