Abstract

1289423 Two part couplings AMP Inc 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 24780/71 Heading H2E A housing 1 for an edge connector for a printed circuit board made of resilient insulating material such as nylon is provided with channels 2 for receiving contacts 30 and a shoulder to limit forward movement of the contact and on integral hinged flap 13 to limit rearward movement of the contact. The flap locks with the side walls of the housing and is released through flexure of the same. A latch arm integral with the housing locks in the printed circuit board which is provided with an off-centre hole to ensure polarization. Slots of different widths are also provided in the printed circuit which corresponds to walls in the housing to further ensure polarization. The contact is described in Specification 1,289,260.
