Abstract
1288208 Fruit presses ENSINK N V MACHINEFABRIEK EN IJZERGIETERIJ 15 Oct 1970 [16 Oct 1969] 48985/70 Heading A4C [Also in Division B1M] In a fruit press wherein fruit is fed from trough 18 between two endless moving bands, at least one of which is liquid-permeable, the cooperating sections of the bands are pressed together between pairs of lower rollers 2 and single upper rollers 3, and rollers 3 are individually vertically adjustable on a frame 5, 9, which is pivoted at 10 for tilting about a horizontal axis and loaded by a weighted lever 12 which applies downward force to its right-hand end 11. This mounting allows frame 5, 9 to adjust automatically to variations in thickness of the material entering the bight between the belts, to relieve excess pressure on the rollers 3 to the left of pivot 10 or to increase this pressure if too thick a layer reaches the rollers 3 rightwards of the pivot. The bands are tensioned at 17, driven in unison at (16) and cleaned by scrapers 19 and sprays 30. Vessel 8 catches the liquid passing through the lower band. The bands may comprise transverse stainless steel wires and longitudinal plastics wires woven together.
