1287562 Valves KEELAVITE HYDRAULICSLtd 12 Sept 1969 [26 June 1968] 30521/68 Heading F2V A constant liquid flow control valve, which is designed to produce a substantially constant rate of flow independent of the pressure of liquid flowing through it, has its body formed of two parts 1 and 2 screwed together to so define a flow passage 3. Disposed within the flow passage is a circlip 6, a cup-shaped piston having a skirt 9 and a corwn 8 with one or more apertures 12 formed therein, a spring 7 urging the piston towards the circlip, and a plate member 11 which together with members 1 and 2 defines an annular chamber 14, the plate having apertures, not shown, which communicate the annular chamber 14 with outlet passage 5. In operation, liquid supplied to inlet port 4 suffers a pressure drop in flowing through the piston aperture(s) 12, enters chamber 14 through a plurality of ports 13 and passes from the chamber to the outlet 5, the liquid pressure forces acting on the piston serving to vary the disposition of the piston skirt 8 in relation to ports 13 and so to control the flow through the valve.
