1287471 Protecting guards R EZQUERRA 20 Nov 1969 [22 Nov 1968] 56768/69 Heading B7B A guard 1 comprising a pair of U-shaped bows 7a, 7b held in spaced relation by struts 8 is pivoted at 4a to a head rest 5 attached to the seat 6 so that as the occupant moves forward under inertia forces during an accident the shoulders engage the pads 9 to raise the guard to the dotted position to protect the face. A similar guard 2 may pivot from the dotted line position to the full line position to protect the skull.
