Abstract

1287250 Change-speed control TATRA NARODNI PODNIK 21 June 1971 [22 June 1970] 28985/71 Heading F2D Each of a pair of shoes 1, pivotally mounted on an axis 4 at the extremities of a pair of arms of a shift fork 2 for a synchronized change-speed gear (not shown) of a heavy goods vehicle, has angled surfaces formed on the lower face 8 and leading edge 10, the pivotal axis 4 being located eccentrically above the longitudinal axis of the shoes 1 such that the longer bevelled portion 5 is directed against the direction of rotation of the gear sleeve 6 to collect and form an oil cushion to minimise wear, overheating and oil decomposition. One arm of the shift fork 2 is provided with a short recess 14 to ensure that the longer portion 5 of both shoes 1 are commonly directed against the direction of rotation to ensure each shoe forms its own oil cushion.
