Abstract
1286540 Tyre pressure indicator J MURANO 11 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968 3 March 1969] 60614/69 Heading B7C [Also in Division G1] An arrangement for detecting and indicating the air pressure in a tyre on a vehicle comprises a body member 7 adapted to be screwed on to the tyre valve, and a member movable under air pressure to affect a pressure sensitive transducer whose output is transmitted to a meter in the drivers cabin. As shown, diaphragm 14 moves under air pressure to control a transfomer type transducer, a reaction spring 25 being provided. Contacts 21 are engaged under very low pressure to actuate an alarm light and buzzer in the cabin. In other embodiments (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) the transducer is a carbon resistance and a pressure sensitive transistor respectively. The link between the tyre and the cabin may be wire (Fig. 2, not shown) or by radio (Fig. 1, not shown).
