Abstract

1286118 Grain lifters G SCHUMACHER 18 Sept 1969 [18 Sept 1968 (2) 4 Aug 1969 12 Aug 1969] 46163/69 Heading AIF A grain lifter for use with combine harvesters and binders has a lifting arm 18 mounted on a supporting arm 1 slotted at one end and inserted into a grooved nut 5 adapted to be threaded onto a bolt 4 securing the finger 2 of a cutter bar to a harvester bracket 3, the arm having a lockable hook member 6 adapted to extend round the finger and secure the arm under stress thereto. The height of the lifter above the ground may be adjusted by screwing the nut 5 along its bolt 4. Alternatively, two or more nuts, or one nut having several grooves, may be provided. The hook 6 which is secured to the supporting arm 1 may be locked onto the finger by a spring-urged 'U' shaped member (13), Fig. 5 (not shown), or a round headed pin.
