Abstract

1285967 Electric motors MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON 19 Aug 1969 [19 Aug 1968] 41408/69 Heading H2A In a synchronous A.C. rotary electric motor including a salient pole rotor 2<SP>1</SP> and a stator having a distributed winding comprising coils energized sequentially in dependence on rotor position, the stator is wound to have the same number of poles as the rotor and the rotor pole arcs and the spans of the stator winding coils, measured in mechanical degrees are substantially equal to half the pole pitch. Adjacent coils may be connected in series or coils displaced by 180‹e may be connected in series opposition. The coils are energized from a trapezoidal waveform frequency changer.
