1285563 Magnetic detectors JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 18 Nov 1969 [17 Oct 1968] 49336/68 Heading G1N A magnetic probe for detecting variations in the flux path of a permanent magnet comprises a cylindrical permanent magnet 1, Fig.1, or 40, Fig.5, windings 16, 17 or a winding 48 around a high permeability pole piece 2 or 41, an insulating ceramics block 29 or 49 carrying terminals to which the ends of the windings 16, 17 or 48 are welded and to which the ends of the conductors of a cable 27 or 50 are welded, longitudinal grooves being provided in the surface of the magnet through which the ends of the windings 16, 17 or the cable conductors 51 pass, and a non-magnetic sealed casing 34 or 57 extending between the sleeve 20 or 52 on the cable and a flanged member 8 or 43 on the pole piece.
