Abstract

1284757 Spray producers AEROSTYLE Ltd 23 Sept 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 47226/70 Heading B2F [Also in Division Dl] In the electrostatic spraying of a particulate material such as flock, for electrostatic deposition, the material is contained in a casing 11 closed at one end and with a metal grid 13 fitted to the opposite end, this grid being connected to one pole of a high voltage supply, an agitator in the form of a rotating brush 23 being mounted within the casing to agitate the material therein and ensure that the material leaves the grid in a stream of uniform density. The voltage is supplied to the grid by means of a spring 20 which connects with the grid when the grid is in position, the voltage supply being from a cable 21 and a connection means 22. The grid is removably fitted to the container by a flanged ring 14 with angled slots 15 to engage pins 16 on the container. The agitator also comprises a paddle 24 and is driven by an air motor 17, or alternatively an electric motor. The brush 23 may be replaced by a metal plate and the agitator may execute a sweeping or oscillating movement in place of the rotation referred to above.
