Abstract

1284514 Back hoe excavators FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 16 April 1971 9695/71 Heading E1F [Also in Division B8] A vehicle carrying an implement, such as a back hoe, in which the implement is slidably supported on a carriage has a lever mounted on the carriage in such a manner as to be rockable to clamp the carriage to the frame. The frame has a slideway 3 consisting of two sections 13, 15, each having a vertical surface 17 and an inclined surface 19. The carriage 5 has a vertical surface 25 to bear against the vertical surface 17 of upper section 15 and also carries a pair of pivotally mounted levers 31. Each lever has an inclined surface 33a which corresponds to the inclined surface of section 15. The lower end of each lever is engaged by a lockable bolt, Fig. 3 (not shown) or a hydraulic actuator 33. Release of pressure on the lever allows the carriage to slide while increase of pressure clamps the carriage in position. A valve assembly for control of the actuator 33 is described.
