Abstract

1284258 Hinge structure P STILLEMANS 19 April 1971 [6 Jan 1971] 27039/71 Heading E2F A hinge comprises a longitudinally split retaining member, Fig. 2, adapted to retain a panel in the split 1 and having a bore 5 for non-rotatably receiving, at each end, hinge pins, Figs. 1 and 3, which are rotatably received in eccentric bearing sockets 7, 8 which, in use, are rotatably held in a fixed frame to permit the hinge pins to be set along a desired pivot axis. As shown, Fig. 1, one pin comprises a rod 12 with a finger 21 received against spring 11 loading in a slotted sleeve 10, the finger being movable in the aligned slots 15, 6 to retract the rod 12 from the bearing socket 7. The other hinge pin, Fig. 3, has a ledge 27 which closes the bottom of the split 1. The sides 2, 3 of the split 1 may be resilient. (For Figures see next column)
