Abstract

1284011 Stereoscopes GAKUSHU KENKYUSHA K K 28 April 1970 20290/70 Heading G2J A stereoscope for viewing a pair of elongated stereo images I 2 , I<SP>1</SP> 2 on a film F Fig. 14, which images are displaced laterally as well as longitudinally, has an optical system for producing these images at the eye-pieces 20, 20<SP>1</SP>. The viewer comprises an upper section and a lower section (2, 3) Fig. 1 (not shown) connected together by means of a light-transmitting cover (4). The film F is wound across from spool 7 to spool 8 by means of a knurled wheel on spool 8. The film passes across a profiled plate 27, and when the cover (4) is in position, the latter has a correspondingly profiled face (32) Fig. 9 (not shown), so that the two profiles form a guide passage for the film. A further profiled plate (28) corresponding to plate 27 is provided on the lower section (3) Fig. 8 (not shown) of the viewer. Apertures 21, 21<SP>1</SP> are provided in plates 27, 28 at positions corresponding to the laterally or vertically spaced apart images I 2 , I<SP>1</SP> 2 . Behind these apertures are respective mirrors 22, 22<SP>1</SP> which reflect the images up to the respective eye-pieces 20, 20<SP>1</SP>. Reflector 22 is spaced a distance A from eye-piece 20 and a distance B from aperture 21. Similarly reflector 22<SP>1</SP> is spaced a distance A<SP>1</SP> from eye-piece 20<SP>1</SP> and a distance B<SP>1</SP> from aperture 21<SP>1</SP>. The components are positioned so that the lengths of the two optical axes A+B and A<SP>1</SP> + B<SP>1</SP> are always the same.
