Abstract
1283824 Decompression devices VICTA Ltd 3 Sept 1970 42253/70 Heading F1K A device for decompressing an internalcombustion engine during cranking and automatically progressively restoring compression thereto as the running speed of the engine increases, comprises a housing 9 mountable to a port in the engine compression chamber, venting means 16 for the housing for the escape of compressed gases in the chamber, a valve seat 14 in the housing and a valve element 8 positioned and constructed so as to be forced to close upon the valve seat by the compressed gases in and passing from the chamber. In a modification (not shown) the valve element is associated with a dashpot. In a further modification (not shown) the valve element is controlled by engine suction which acts on a diaphram connected to the valve element.
