1282968 Shaft seals GEORGE ANGUS & CO Ltd 21 Oct 1970 49922/70 Addition to 1173314 Heading F2B In a shaft seal comprising a moulded ring 1 of elastomeric material which has a base 2, a holding wall 3 and a peripheral lip flange 4 and is reinforced by an L-section metal ring 6 having a radial flange 7 embedded in the base 2 and an axial flange embedded in the wall 3, the axial flange has a cylindrical base-end portion 8 and a substantially frusto-conical rim portion 9. The seal may be an internal one, as shown in Fig. 1 or an external one, Fig. 2 (not shown).
