1282835 Brake lining wear indicators SVENSKA AB BROMSREGULATOR 23 April 1971 10902/71 Heading F2E A brake actuator comprising a diaphragm 3, piston plate 4, and a piston-rod 5 encircled by a spring 6 has a warning device indicating excessive wear of a brake lining or insufficient manual or automatic slack adjustment comprising two blocks 8, 7 engaging respectively the actuator cover 2 and piston plate 4, a bronze leaf spring 9 being clamped between block 7 and plate 4 which contacts a bronze slave 10 on block 8 when the piston movement is only slightly less than permissible thereby actuating an indicating device 12. The indicating device may be sonor or optical and several actuators may be arranged in parallel.
