Abstract

1282806 Bearings CLEVITE CORP 9 Sept 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 43089/70 Heading F2A [Also in Division C7] A bearing consists of a steel backing to which is bonded an aluminium-silicon-copper-magnesium-cadmium alloy that is subsequently precipitation hardened by heat treatment, the latter being applied to the composite material in strip, blank or semi-finished bearing form. After final machining the bearing surface is plated with a lead-base alloy containing copper and tin.
