Abstract

1282292 Hot-blast stoves; non-atmospheric burners DIDIER-WERKE AG 17 Oct 1969 [19 Oct 1968] 51127/69 Heading F4K and F4T In a hot blast stove wherein fuel and air are supplied to a burner 10 through channels 8 and 9 respectively, the channels are provided with adjustable flow distributor devices 21, 22 and 23 for uniformly distributing the air and fuel flows in their respective channels. Each device 21, 22, 23 comprises either a bar grate, as shown, a set of bar grates, or a set of louvres with adjustable shutter angles. The grate 21 and the annular grate 23 are located in reduced cross-section zones 19, 20 of the channels. In use hot combustion gas from the burner heats up the checkerwork of the stove. The burner is then closed down and air to be heated is passed through the checkerwork in the opposite direction.
