Abstract

1281997 Containers LILY CUPS & CONTAINERS (ENGLAND) Ltd 31 Dec 1969 [8 Jan 1969] 1098/69 Heading B8D [Also in Division A4] A thermoformed nestable sheet polystyrene container of substantially triangular outline in plan comprises a side wall extending upwards and outwardly from a circular bottom 2, the side wall being formed by three triangular panels 4 joined one to the other by three curved panels 6 with each of the triangular panels being formed with an external or internal shoulder 10 adapted to engage the bottom or seat on the out-turned rim 8 respectively of an identical container when the containers are nested one within the other. The bottom is recessed, Fig. 4 (not shown). The shape of the container is said to result in less wastage of the sheet material from which the substantially triangular container blank is cut in comparison with the conventional circular container blanks.
