Abstract

1281742 End closures for drums BOWATER PACKAGING Ltd 7 July 1970 [23 July 1969] 37118/69 Heading B8D [Also in Division B5] The end margin of a fibreboard drum 1 is folded inwardly to form a flange which is adhered to an end closure disc 5, the flange being formed with a plurality of regularly circumferentially spaced creases such that adhesion between the flange and end disc occurs over at least 90% of their interface. An outer disc 11 and an inner disc 12 may be adhesively secured to the outer surfaces of the flange and disc 5 and to the inner surface of disc 5 respectively. In a modification, an outer sleeve may be attached to the end of the drum, this being folded inwardly to form the flange.
