Abstract

968,823. Reels. E. HAFNER. Aug. 14, 1963 [Sept. 25, 1962], No. 32144/63. Heading B8M. A two-walled, plastics reel flange comprises two flange discs 4, 5 with ribs 7, 8 &c., arranged on their insides and engaging over one another, the adjacent boundary surfaces of the ribs being joined with an adhesive. These ribs preferably enclose spaces-for example annular rings as in Fig. 2, or circles, ellipses, triangles or other polygons (Figs. 3-5, not shown). The discs may be strengthened by cross ribs in these spaces, for example between ribs 7 and 8, 10 and 14, and 9 and 12 (Fig. 1, not shown).
