Abstract

1281444 Electric igniters DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 3 March 1970 [3 March 1969] 10212/70 Addition to 1231694 Heading F3A An electric igniter which operates only in a prescribed voltage range comprises a bridge 4 for igniting an explosive composition 6, a semiconductor 2 coated with layers of metal 3a and 3b, and electrodes 5, the semi-conductor being in parallel relationship with the bridge 4 and having a resistance which is voltage dependent, whereby the prescribed voltage range is established. A further semi-conductor may be connected in parallel with the bridge. A semiconductor 7 may also be connected in series. The bridge incandesces or vaporizes explosively on the passage of an electric current therethrough.
