Abstract

1281308 Fuel injection pumps ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 Jan 1971 [29 Jan 1970] 2699/71 Heading F1A In a fuel injection pump comprising a piston 14 having helical control edges 32 co-operating with spill ports 34, the fuel spilled through the ports 34 to a suction chamber 37 impinges upon the plane surface 45 of hardened steel baffles 42. Fuel is supplied to the chamber 37 through a bore 38 and recesses 44 in the associated baffle 42. Excess fuel and fuel spilled into the chamber 37 is exhausted through the bore 39 via recesses 44 in the baffle 42 therein. thus pressurizes the liquid in the container causing it to be expelled to a spray device (not shown). An adaptor, Fig. 3, attachable to the tractor's exhaust and a manifold, Fig. 4, to be joined on to the container are connected by the conduit and provide means for preventing excessive build-up of pressure in the system. A valve plate 5 is slidable on spigot 6 and is held against the perforated base 3 by a compression spring, adjustable by nut 8. Similarly, valve disc 18 is held over the end of bore 19 by a spring 17, adjustment of the holding force being provided by screwed plug 20.
