Abstract

Hooks fixed to walls.-Electric cables, pipes, &c. are carried along walls, railway tracks, &c. by means of supports comprising a number of hooks coupled or linked together so that the number can be varied according to the number of cables &c. carried. Figs. 1 and 2 show a pair of cast-iron hooks a, the backs of which are formed so as to lie against a wall or upright. The hook part is strengthened by a rib c thickened to form an eye d to take a pin f on which the next hook is carried. The top hook is secured to a wall plug or bolt h. Another form of hook made from wrought iron by stamping and bending is shown in Fig. 5. Any number of hooks may be linked together and additional fixings may be used to secure them to the walls &c.
