1281008 Harvester table MASSEY-FERGUSON GmbH 31 Oct 1969 [5 Dec 1968] 57722/ 68 Heading A1F A variable width table for a combine har vester comprises a main portion 1 with a cutter bar portion 4, and end portions 2, 3 slidable over and along portion 1 each having cutter bar portions 5 and 6 respectively. Cut outs 8, 9 are made in the floor of portion 1, which form rectangular recesses 10 and 11 when the end portions 2, 3 are in their fully extended positions. Knife bar inserts 12A, 13A are fitted into recesses 8, 9 and are fixed therein by pins 17 on part end walls 16 of the portion 1 which engage in holes on the inner end walls 20 of the inserts 12A, 13A, and further by pins 24, 24X on lugs 26, 26X carried by bars 23, 23X which pass through holes 15 on the part end walls 14 of the outer sections 2, 3 and the holes on the outer end walls of the inserts 12A, 13A. In addition slots 22 on the inserts engage the bars 23, 23X. On construction of the table, the inserts 12A, 13A are first freed by actuating an eccentric 29 via lever 33 which forces pins 24 out of the holes, then are removed and the end portions 2, 3 are moved inwards by hydraulic-rams till the end walls on portion 1 and portions 2 and 3 abut, and the pins 17 enter the holes 15. The various portions of the knife blade are fixable together by spring clips having components 7A and 7B to form a continuous knife blade. A table for a combine harvester has a main portion 1 with a cutter bar 4 extending over less than the full width of the table and located mid way between its ends. Extreme end walls with cutter bars 5, 6 are located on the table in such a way as the cutter bars mate up to form a continuous cutter bar along the table width.
