Abstract

1280838 Ammunition loading apparatus FRANCE ARMED FORCES MINISTER OF 19 Dec 1969 [19 Dec 1968] 62120/69 Heading F3C An ammunition loading apparatus for a gun which is adapted to be driven by the gas pressure in the oleopneumatic recuperator of the gun comprises an hydraulic ram 1 for actuating the ammunition remover, the piston 2 thereof being acted on by fluid on both faces which have different cross-sectional areas. A setting jack comprising a piston 6 and cylinder 5, is also provided in the fluid path to the hydraulic ram 1 the arrangement being such that, after a round of ammunition has been loaded a manually controlled stop 16 of the breech of the gun engages the rod of the piston 6 during counter recoil of the gun to urge the jack and thus the piston 2 into their rest positions. The gas pressure from the recuperator works on a floating piston 2 in a cylinder 1 the hydraulic outlet therefrom being connected to the cylinder 5 of the jack.
