Abstract

1280151 Switch casings; mountings SYNCHRO DEVELOPMENTS (LONDON) Ltd and DIPL ING WEBER & DR BAUER GmbH & CO KG 7 July 1969 [9 April 1968 (2)] 2976/68 and 6525/68 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] A wall-mounted control assembly for a lighting system includes an adjusting wheel 36 which operates a switching element 37 at the beginning of its travel, and is then used to set a potentiometer which varies the delay in a gating circuit of a thyristor, thus controlling the intensity of a light source. The assembly comprises a recessed face plate 3, through a slot in which the wheel 36 projects. The switch housing 42 has a flanged front portion 49 which rests on the edge of a box 12, the latter being let into the wall. The housing 42 is held in the box 12 by claws 17 adjusted by screws 16. Circuit elements, Fig. 1 (not shown), are carried on a printed circuit plate 11. Contacts for a fuse are also fixed to the plate 11, the fuse itself being held on the inner wall of the face-plate 3, and thus being simply disconnected for replacement by removing the face plate. The housing 42 has an opening in its rear wall and screw terminals to receive a cable (not shown). In another embodiment, a number of switch assemblies are mounted together on a common screening plate, Fig. 13 (not shown).
