Abstract

1279914 Change-speed control PLASTICS (WEDNESBURY) Ltd 12 Jan 1971 [31 Jan 1970] 4761/70 Heading F2D A vibration damping rubber insert 11 is moulded in a plastics gear-shift-lever knob 10, together with a rigid, e.g. metal, ferrule 12, which surrounds the lower part of the insert 11 and has lower and upper lips 19, 20, respectively restraining outward movement of the rubber under compression, and keying the ferrule to the knob body 10. The rubber insert has an enlarged head 15 and side-ribs outside the ferrule area to key the insert in the knob body. A badge disc 21 is retained by a transparent snap-in dome 22. The knob is screwed or pushed on the end of the shift lever.
