Abstract

1279911 Firearm magazine COLTS Inc 8 Jan 1970 [13 March 1969] 942/70 Heading F3C A firearm magazine comprises an elongated body for storing and feeding a staggered double column stack of cartridges 14a, 14b, 14c and having a pair of side walls 36, 38 and a front wall having an upper edge defining part of the cartridge outlet of the magazine. Each side wall 36, 38 is provided with an indentation terminating below the pertinent side wall upper edge, protruding inwardly of the magazine and arranged adjacent the front wall and below the upper edge of the front wall such that the cartridge 14b following the uppermost cartridge 14a is urged into line engagement therewith to prevent double feeding. In the construction shown the indentations are opposed directly to one another, the flat portions 56, 56<SP>1</SP> thereof being preceded by ramp portions 54, 54<SP>1</SP>. Guide grooves are provided in the side walls of the magazine (Figs. 1, 2, not shown) and these are deepened adjacent the neck of the magazine to provide inwardly and upwardly directed guide surfaces 65, 65<SP>1</SP>.
