1279723 Dock levellers SERCO ENG Ltd 21 Oct 1969 [29 Oct 1968] 51610/69 Heading B8E In a dock leveller of the type in which a lip plate 12, Fig. 2, is pivoted to a main plate 11 a spring-loaded toggle-linkage 28, 30 is provided, which, as it goes over-centre, pivots the lip plate between an operative position shown in Fig. 2 and a storage position shown in Fig. 3 The linkage is urged between the two positions by a spring 37 and is latched in the operative position by a cam 32 which engages a pin 31 on the link 28. In the storage position the pin 31 abuts a bracket 36. The main plate 11 is counterbalanced by springs and is moved manually.
