Abstract
1279590 Injection moulds SEMPERIT AG 19 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 26712/71 Heading B5A In a mould for the injection moulding of foamable material, the injection passage 2 is split longitudinally over at least a part of its length, the two parts being separable for the withdrawal of sprue therefrom, and a blind passage 3 opens into the injection passage so that injected material fills the blind passage 3 first, foams and then closes off the injection passage. The blind passage is preferably arranged at an angle α, is at least partially thermally insulated and, for thermosetting materials, has heater windings 5. The injection passage 2 is preferably angled as shown. Two, three or more blind passages may be provided, and two blind passages may be arranged opposite one another.
