Abstract
1279570 Electrolytic production of nickel foil CLEVITE CORP 23 June 1970 [26 June 1969] 30398/70 Heading C7B Apparatus for the electrolytic production of nickel foil comprises a tank 14 for containing the electolyte; a self supporting drum, 10, (i.e. a drum which does not distort under its own weight in the absence of internal support) formed of titanium or titanium alloy (e. g. 6 Al-4V-Ti alloy) positioned in the tank and forming the cathode; an anode 16 supported in the tank by supports 18 and closely spaced from the drum; pumping means 22 for circulating and agitating the electrolyte; and means for peeling the nickel foil from the drum. The anode 16 may be formed of nickel chips covered by a diaphragm 20, e. g. of muslin cloth.
